STONE TECHNOLOGY
MICR CLIMATE GENERATION
While
development of grasses and shrubs in early phase of preparation of soil for
plantation of trees, Junglee came across such stones which had a very thin
layer if green coating on it which is called as moss in Life science. His deep
inquisitiveness led to deep understanding of this green layer and with the help
of academic & scientific knowledge he was informed of the characteristic of
water retention of moss for a longer duration of time (Plate: 3.3). This
information stroked a technique in his mind which he developed as stone
technology in later phase of plantation. Mosses are small flowerless plants that typically grow in
dense green clumps or mats, often in damp or shady locations. The individual
plants are usually composed of simple, one-cell thick leaves, attached to a stem that may be branched or
unbranched and has only a limited role in conducting water and nutrients with a
great water holding capacity. Micro
Climate Generation
Junglee advocates application of induced
micro climate generation with help of stone technology and wood technology.
With the help of this technique stones and wood are hanged at some height
around high altitude plants (Deodar, Taxus baccata) where mat of mosses thrived
on these stones and pieces of woods already soaked with water provide a moist
air around these plants (Plate: 3.9). Air blowing carries moisture and cool air
induced by these technologies around plants and in result high altitude plants
get a suitable micro climate for their growth. There has been development of a blend of
conventional and modern technology to grow plants and trees all around this
forest. Age old technique of ground water conservation applied in this forest
has proved to be instrumental in restoration and rejuvenation of streams and ground
water recharging. Production of organic compost from cow dung and litter has
enhanced fertility of soil and encouraged people around to propagate this
method for crop production. Hydra headed concept of micro climate generation is
still under experiment because high altitude plants planted in the forest are
still small but this concept of Jagat can be a kind of revolution in the field
of ecological conservation and restoration if plants succeed in their full
development. Its implementation in a proper way can bear fruits of ecological
balance in coming future. So, method applied in this forest are eco friendly,
economically feasible and the most important is that they are totally chemical
independent in nature.
Hey Thanks for sharing this blog its very helpful to implement in our work.
